The Harold Lloyd Award

This year we will be bestowing the 2018 Harold Lloyd Award on prolific Pixar Producer Darla K. Anderson (Coco, Toy Story 3, Cars, Monsters Inc). The award recognizes distinguished achievement in storytelling.

The Sir Charles Wheatstone Award

We’re proud to announce the Sony Corporation as our 2018 Sir Charles Wheatstone Award Honoree. Sony has consistently pushed the envelope in delivering world class technology to story tellers from HD Cameras to HDR Monitors, 4K Theater Projectors to 4K Flat Screens, and shipping more than 2 million PlayStation VR Headsets. Sony Technology has been the story tellers greatest asset, enabling people around the world to create, view and innovate.

About the AIS Lumiere Award Statuette

Made for the Society by the R.S. Owens Company of Chicago, (who also manufacture the Oscar for the Academy Awards), The Lumiere Statuette depicts the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, lifting her head to greet the morning light. She is made of bronze and covered with gold and is seen in the company of Oscars, Emmys, Golden Lions and BAFTA Awards in display cabinets around the world. These statuettes are presented as the pinnacle of entertainments arts and technologies by our chapters in China, Japan, and Europe.
