David Leitch

DAVID LEITCH is a prolific director and producer whose high octane, boldly distinctive character driven action tent pole films have grossed over $2.9 billion worldwide. He’s best known for helming the critically acclaimed, box-office smash hits Deadpool 2, starring Ryan Reynolds, Bullet Train, starring Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock, and Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. Leitch made his directorial debut in 2014 with the surprise box-office hit John Wick starring Keanu Reeves, which he co-directed with Chad Stahelski. Leitch also served as Producer on John Wick and as Executive Producer on John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and John Wick: Chapter 4. His second film as a director was the neon-noir cult classic, Atomic Blonde, starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy.

Leitch, with his wife and partner Kelly McCormick, own 87North Productions, which is both a world-renowned production and action design company and a premier stunt training/design studio with workspace in Hollywood. Under its first-look deal with Universal, 87North’s film The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, was released on May 3, 2024, with Leitch directing and McCormick and Leitch producing. In addition to Bullet Train, 87North is the force behind another one of 2022’s most successful box office hits, Violent Night (Universal), starring David Harbour as “Santa Claus.” Other recent 87North releases include the critically acclaimed Nobody starring Bob Odenkirk and Kate, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. The company has a number of exciting projects in the works to be produced by Leitch and McCormick including titles With Love (Universal), Kung Fu (Universal), Versus (Universal), Red Shirt (Amazon), Ruby (Amazon), and sequels for both Violent Night and Nobody.

Prior to establishing himself as a director, Leitch spent a decade in the stunt

business, ending as the premiere 2nd unit director, stunt coordinator and fight choreographer on such films as The Wolverine, Captain America: Civil War, Logan, and Jurassic World. Previously, he doubled Matt Damon on Bourne Ultimatum and Brad Pitt on Fight Club and Mr. And Mrs. Smith, among others.
